IT Launch Enablement
Triverus helps pre-commercial Biotech wrapped in approval delays, co-promotion demands and acquisition from a global pharmaceutical company.
Overview
Ready. Set. Stop! A pre-commercial biotech company faced delays in FDA approval for nearly a year, derailing plans to launch their first drug. As anticipated approval finally approached, the company had less than six months to regear for the launch. They now faced new challenges and complexity: they needed to re-engage vendors and navigate a new co-promotion deal with a global pharmaceutical partner. With contractual obligations, tight timelines and limited resources, the biotech was in urgent need of support.
How We Helped
Triverus was engaged to program manage all IT enablement activities and help execute a successful launch. Leveraging extensive knowledge provisioning key business and IT capabilities needed for launch and their associated implementation timelines, Triverus used its proven launch methodology and approach to:
- Facilitate regular cross-functional business and IT meetings and communications.
- Review vendors’ status, deliverables and timelines to ensure reasonableness and fit for purpose.
- Organize cross-company co-promotion activities, information exchanges and timelines.
- Oversee risk and issue management.
- Manage the launch budget and communicate updates to cross-functional and senior management teams.
Adding to the complexity of the initiative, the biotech was acquired by the global pharmaceutical company five months after launch. Triverus continued providing support for all the acquisition knowledge transfer and information exchange activities.
Results
After partnering with Triverus’ experienced Life Sciences team, the biotech had all critical business and IT capabilities ready for launch:
- All information access and exchange obligations in the co-promote agreement were met prior to the deadlines.
- Vendors met their time and budget commitments without compromising quality.
- Proactive knowledge transfer plans and timelines were created and presented.
Finally, post launch, all commercial workstreams transitioned knowledge smoothly to their counterpart in the global pharmaceutical organization.
